Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a quick and powerful therapeutic method, proven by many research studies to be highly effective and long-lasting. Unlike many other forms of therapy, EMDR can be done with a separate independent therapist as an EMDR can easily be done as an adjunct to therapy you may already be doing elsewhere. I have successfully used this versatile technique to help people recover from such diverse problems as low self-esteem, PTSD, procrastination, sexual and physical abuse, performance anxiety, and catastrophes like 9/11. Can EMDR Help You?

EMDR can provide relief from ...

  • Negative thinking patterns.
  • Phobias or fears.
  • Panic attacks.
  • Traumatic, unresolved memories.
  • Post Traumatic stress disorders
  • Childhood abuse and neglect,
  • Loss of a loved, one or dream, or relationship,
  • Depression,
  • Phobias (for instance, fear of flying, travel, insects, etc.),
  • Anger, or fear of anger,
  • Witnessing trauma,
  • Physical, sexual or emotional abuse,
  • Performance fears,
  • Social anxiety,
  • Car and Motorcycle accidents.

Hypnotherapy

The term "hypnosis" is derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning "sleep." Hypnotherapists typically use scripts that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, also known as a trance. Many people routinely experience a trance-like state while they are watching television or sitting at a red light. A person in a trance or deeply focused state is unusually responsive to an idea or image, but this does not mean that a hypnotist can control the person's mind and free will. On the contrary, hypnosis can actually teach people how to master their own states of awareness. By doing so they can affect their own bodily functions and psychological responses.

Hypnosis has been proven to be highly effective in treating:

  1. Smoking (Texas A&M and others)
  2. Weight Loss (Oxford University and others)
  3. Pain Management (Stanford University and others)
  4. Drug, Alcohol, & Gambling Addictions (Ohio State University and others)
  5. Healing Faster (Harvard University)
  6. Eating Disorders
  7. Phobias
  8. Sexual Addictions and issues
  9. Sports Focus and improvement
  10. Self Improvement - Concentration, Memory and Test Anxiety

Marriage and Relationship Counseling

We understand that couples often fall into the habit of hiding their feelings whenever they have conflicting desires and this always has a toxic effect on their relationship. Resentment and anger build up and eventually the little happiness's they enjoy together - wonderful sex, feelings of peace, safety, contentment - are weakened or spoiled. We are prepared to help the couple achieve their goals.
